Pay attention to things that pop up several times in this story and continue adding other themes as you see them in the story.

A theme that is ongoing is kind of a social conflict, all the "second best" aren't treated fairly, but they are better than many other people. Like Jared he is the second fastest runner on the team, but the people still make fun of him even if there slower because the "best" people lead them into the direction that there's only ONE winner and theres ONE loser.

The ongoing theme right now in the story is that everyone is better at something that someone else is. Even if you are second best always, you are always better at something than someone else is.

The Theme is when the second people are getting mad about how the "best" people are trying to get them mad. Like Austin, he is always calling Jared a Gohper and he even put it on his NEW UNIFORM!!!!!!!!!! So the Theme is even though someone does somthing mean to you, you still need to be nivce to them!!!!!!!

The "unbeatables" in the school make fun of the second-bests, and the second-bests make fun of people lower than them. The Shadow Club members feel like they are treated badly, so they treat others badly.

A theme in this book I think is friendship and revenge because its a bunch of kids that have never met and they become very good friends and end up pulling tricks on the unbeatables and then it gets a little messy so that would be revenge.

I think that one of the themes is like kind of Social descrimination becasue the "second best" are treated worse than the "unbeatables". Also friendship and bullying is one because the shadow club bullies people and the "unbeatales" bully the "second best" and becasue they are all friends.
